eLearning course development
Considering creating an eLearning course? Need to convert a live, classroom training into an online, asynchronous format? Want to create a course that is self-paced and launched from within sccLearn? Have a webinar that you want learners to watch and need a quiz to verify understanding?
The good news is that there are many options available to County agencies, including working with an external vendor to create your eLearning needs++.
++ eLearning development services are available through a Project Request process by an eLearning instructional design vendor, Xpan and are paid for by the requesting agency.

eLearning development process
- Complete the e-Learning Analysis Form
- Evaluation of completed eLearning Analysis Form by LED team
LED will evaluate the eLearning Analysis form, which has been completed by the Agency, and then schedule a meeting to delve deeper into the request. The purpose of this meeting is to identify whether eLearning is a viable and suitable course of action. - Recommendations will be made by LED and a follow-up meeting will be scheduled
LED, along with the Agency, will determine whether eLearning is the appropriate solution. If so, it will be determined whether the training can be developed in-house, by a vendor++, or if an existing off-the-shelf eLearning course exists. - Begin content development, testing, and deployment in sccLearn if applicable
If developing a new web-based training is determined to be the course of action, there are several phases of the development process that need to be completed.
a. Design and development
i. Review the eLearning Development Guidelines
b. Review and testing
c. Deployment in sccLearn
